Hello,
I must say I'm a little disappointed not to have received a reply
for this mail from the 5th Feb - forwarded below.
I saw from my mailserver that it had been received by your email
system at the time of sending.
In case the pdf/jpg attachments caused reception issues, I have
packaged them up and they are available here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/704bgqwc1z542of/20140215-ES1910AR-Meacher-EverestWindows.zip
This contains:
* The proposed design for the small windows I was sent 3rd
October 2013 and as such what I'd expected.
* A comparison of the original design, what I was expecting and
what was actually (wrongly) produced.
* The four scale drawings of what they should be, as pdf files.
* Image from across the road showing original and replacement
windows with the same design.
I've today spotted that the house at #81 across the road has a
mixture of old & new (replacement casement) windows, both of
which have the same design as mine, even though the panels are
different sizes and shapes. This I have included a picture of in
the zip file referred to above.
Therefore, the fact that Everest (being the second largest home
improvements company in the country) have been unable to achieve
this, does seem quite bizarre.
I really hadn't expected this project to take so long and would
like to point out it has delayed my other refurbishment plans
by getting on for six months.
Therefore I am willing to give you the opportunity to resolve this
farce to my satisfaction, although this can only be until I have
found an alternative supplier, at which point we would have to
consider this order cancelled.
Regards,
Sean Meacher

Hello Mr Lees,
I see what has happened here.
Iâve put together an image titledÂâone of these is not like
the othersâ, which will show you what the differences are.
Basically, theÂâscaled drawingâ that may have been supplied to
CET, doesnât look like the design I sent you previously and
gave Robbie a copy of (as an acetate printout) in December.
Somewhere along the line, it has beenÂcropped, not scaled.
Iâm sure the difference will be immediately apparent to you.
Iâve also attached here scale drawings of what I expected
them to look like - where the design is the same, accounting
for the difference in panel sizes.
Itâs not a difficult change - these took me about half an
hour.
These are for the 4 panel sizes that I was originally given
around 3rd October.
Iâve confirmed with CET that the edge sizes are fine. So for
that Iâm happy.
Unless you need different panel sizes, feel free to have them
processed appropriately.
However I would like confirmation of what is being produced to
save wasting more time, effort and materials.
Then when theyâre finished, pictures as you kindly provided
previously, so Iâm not surprised if/when they eventually turn
up at my house.
When I received the mail last Friday, I will admit I took a
couple of days to calm down from the feeling of shouting at
a mindless unstoppable behemoth.
Iâm happy to deal with you directly as you have shown me
that you can be helpful.
I would however still like answers to my other queries from
the 2nd Feb.

Sean Meacher
Sent from Windows Mail
Dear Mr Meacher,
I sent you an email on the 21
Jan asking
you if you had looked at our website and also if my reply to
your email
was OK.
On the 23 Jan I sent you
actual pictures
of the units in your windows. You replied on the 29 Jan some
6 days later
after we emailed you. ÂYour email was not clear. These are
the scaled
drawings that were supplied to CET. I need to know what you
are not happy
with. I would appreciate a constructive reply. I would like
myself and
the surveyor to visit you to find out why you are not happy
with these
designs.
The offer of visiting me to
see your
actual windows still remain. Your windows are being
delivered Wednesday.
Given that the smaller window design appears
to have
been somewhat truncated the answer will have to be 'no'.
At some future time I would imagine that will be
corrected, however that
time is not now.
We can work together and get
these designs
sorted as quickly as possible, or we can play ping pong on
emails to prolong
this simply task. I like you want to move forward.
Kind regards
I can't help feeling that we've been here
several times
before and are in fact going around in circles.
Analogous to me describing to you a racehorse and getting
back from you
an elephant.
So I do have to say that I've completely lost faith in your
process.
If unit 'B' doesn't look like supplied design 'A', shouldn't
someone be
checking that and confirming with the customer BEFORE
manufacture??
In fact the only part of this project that has gone right so
far has been
when I corresponded with CET directly (which both of us were
happy about).
What exactly do you hope to achieve by sending Robbie out
again?.. given
that we're still essentially in the same position that we
have been since
early October - 4 Months!
From the original designs I was sent back (dated 3rd October
2013), there
were 4 sizes of panel:
379x234mm
393x234mm
405x234mm
419x234mm
This means, for them to not be 'lost in translation' again,
I have produced
scale drawings of this remarkably simple glass design and
send them to
the appropriate people.
If/When those have, as before, been deemed suitable for
production and
confirmed, as was the large design (which having finally now
seen a picture
of, I'm very happy with!), then hopefully we will be able to
proceed -
then I'll send you copies also.
In my day job, I'm used to dealing with international
projects that can
affect upwards from 2000 people.
Dealing with home improvements on this scale shouldn't be
this tortuous!
Should we continue with this, I would also expect some kind
of reduction
in the cost, given that I appear to be doing your jobs for
you.
Please don't get this wrong again or I shall have to find
somewhere more
competent.
Regards,
Sean Meacher

Hi Mr Meacher,
Ken Lee's has asked me to make an appointment for Robbie
Yapp to come see
you to discuss the window query.
I can Âoffer you an early morning appointment again from
Tuesday
4th Feb onwards?
Could you let me know a day that would be suitable to you?
Kind regards,
