Re: Everest Home Improvements (ES1910AR)

So far, what I've had is this:
The sales rep very-nice-man Trevor came round and I asked for 'like for like' in getting a quote for my windows. He worked out what was required with timber frames and the window types I wanted.
At no point was I shown any different styles, so this thing I've signed up for for £20,000, I still have no idea what's it's going to look like.
Then Robbie the surveyor came round, did all the measurements, took some photo's, made some corrections and gave me the impression that he knew what he was doing, which I felt comfortable with.
Then a few weeks later I receive the proposed designs for the stained glass replacements that looked like a child had drawn them while standing across the street.
I was not happy.
Having traced the email trail back to the glass manufacturer, I made scale drawings of the existing stained glass panels, sent them off and was pleasantly surprised that CET were willing to work from those (with minor adjustments that we agreed on). So all good, or so I thought.

I've asked to be able to see what the designs of the windows will look like and have been offered a visit to St Albans. It's a pleasant gesture, but not something I really have time for.

All I really need to keep me happy are:
* Photo's of the frame designs/panels.
* A cost breakdown of each panel, so I know where this quite substantial amount of money is going.
* Status of the manufacture of each panel and if there's a hold-up, what that is.

Is that really too much to ask?..
Given that there's already been a couple of months delay, surely whoever is above Robbie could spare some time to answer my questions and give me that sense of well-being that I'm not currently getting.
In my expereience it's rare that the person at the end of the chain could answer all the questions I may have about the production and manufacture (my background is engineering).

Imagine if you will, a project manager, or even the MD, asking you to give them an update on what's going on.
What would you tell them?

Re: Everest Home Improvements (ES1910AR)

I'm afraid I just got this.
8am is about the time I usually have to leave the house, so it's reasonably ok. Except I have to be in for a 9am meeting Thursday.
If you want Robbie to go to Chiswick on Friday to see me at my office, I'll need his registration for him to be allowed onto the park.

If I need to be in, then yes I can probably do that.
As long as it’s about 9ish.

Otherwise, I work in Chiswick.

Hi Mr Meacher,

It is to do with the glass design. I have been asked by the factory to get Robbie out to you.

I can get him to you tomorrow morning if you would be available.

If it is convenient and your work place in the london area, I could even ask him to attend there.

Can you please let me know your earliest availability,

Kind regards,

Sean Meacher

My Father mentioned something about someone from Everest phoning and giving 20th Jan as an installation date(?)
Except I'm not there during the day and he's getting on a bit and doesn't write down any messages.

Email is indeed usually best for me.
If you need to contact me more urgently, please use my mobile number and leave a message, or if during office hours a text message would be best as the building I work in is a bit of a farady cage and so the mobile signal is quite patchy.

My mobile number is:
07973 634359

If Robbie needs to come and do some more measuring, then that's fine.
But what exactly is the hold up? I thought he'd taken sufficient drawings/measurements at the time?
Is this another thing like the glass designs?..

HI Mr Meacher,

I had been advised by the factory that they are having trouble with the glass design and sizes. We need to get Robbie back to you ASAP I have tried to phone you but remember you are better contacted via email.

Unfortunately, the installation date will no longer stand as things move on very quickly, however the sooner I can get him out to you to get the problem resolved, the better.

If you could please contact me ASAP either via email or on 0844 846 1939 and I will book an appointment for you.

Kind regards,
